January Newsletter

Week Ahead: Monday- Full Day; Tuesday- Full Day; Wednesday- Full Day; Thursday- Full Day; Friday- HALF DAY

  1. Free Throw Championship-  Ages 9-14 are welcome to attend the free throw championship this Saturday at the Clark YMCA.

  2. Valentine’s Day- Believe it or not, February is coming! In observance of Valentine’s Day this year, we welcome students bringing in Valentine’s cards to hand out to friends in the classroom. Classroom teachers will have a designated time at the end of the day for exchanging and opening Valentine’s.  Guidance from our Wellness Policy does not support traditional parties that include food and snacks.  However, if you would like to send a special snack for your own child to enjoy, that is absolutely fine.  As a reminder, the characteristic trait we focus on during the month of February is FRIENDSHIP.  Although we don’t expect everyone to be friends, we do expect that everyone will be kind to one another.

  3. Reminder- There will be a half day of school on Friday, February 2nd for Staff Professional Development. No lunch is served on half days.

  4. School Zone Safety- Arrival and dismissal are busy here at TES. Here are just a few reminders to keep everyone safe:

    1. The speed limit during arrival and dismissal is 20 mph.

    2. Cars should not be passing through the TES parking lots during arrival and dismissal times and should NEVER be passing buses or vans that are loading or unloading.

    3. Cars departing the drop off/pick up zone need to yield to oncoming traffic on South Road.

  5. Social Emotional Survey for Families- Today is the last day to complete the social emotional survey. You can find this in your email inbox from a company called Edumetrisis.
