All TES Families are invited to participate in our
4th Annual At Home Family Game Night!
Thursday, March 2nd
We are asking families to choose a game that will help to strengthen reading and/or math skills.
Such games could include:
Scrabble - Cribbage - Chutes and Ladders - Candy Land - Yahtzee - War- Go Fish - Crazy 8’s- Monopoly- Trouble - Sorry! - Hi Ho Cherry Oh! - Battleship - Boggle - Apples to Apples - UNO- Mexican Train- Rummikub- Dominoes
Here are some questions you could ask your child as you are playing:
Can you count out loud for me as you move?
Do you know other ways to make that number?
What number did you roll on the dice? How do you know it’s that number?
What would be 1 more/10 more than the number you rolled? How did you figure that out?
Did I roll a number greater than or less than your number? How do you know?
Tell me more about what you are thinking? What was your strategy?
Where could we find out how to spell that? Dictionary?
Tell me more about other spelling patterns that you know.
If you are comfortable doing so, we would love for you to post a picture of your family playing the game of your choice on Facebook and tag us!
