Principal’s Flyer #32: April 6, 2025
Dear Students & Families:
Today we’re acknowledging our School Committee Student Representative, Amanda Iannacone, for her participation in Massachusetts Student Government Day, held at the State House last Friday. As part of the day, Amanda participated with elected student leaders from all around Massachusetts and worked in simulated joint committee hearings, and as part of house, senate, and supreme judicial court sessions. All government day activities are intended to foster the development of the next generation of civic leaders. Here’s a picture of Amanda at the State House, and you can see Amanda’s work on behalf of the high school and the district by attending or tuning into NRSD School Committee meetings. Thank you to Amanda for her ongoing leadership, and thank you to Amanda’s Government Day Advisors Ms. Mary Remillard and Mr. Eric Supple for making participation possible!
BRAVO and congratulations to our Cast, Crew, Volunteers, and Directors on the 2025 MS/HS Musical Production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Bringing a musical production together requires something close to planetary alignment, and we appreciate the hard work and dedication of performers, stage/tech. crew, and parent/community/staff volunteers for making this happen. Kudos to our amazing student performers, ranging from our brilliant and talented leads, to our burgeoning and talented middle school performers and supporting cast. Thank you to Mr. Mike Dickson, and to an incredibly talented team for bringing the production to our community. It is especially neat to see seasoned performers shine right alongside cast members that are new to performing arts! Warriors…we now hope you have the bug, so to speak! In all sincerity and to all our students involved, we are incredibly proud of you! Finally, thank you to all parents, families, students and community members who came out to join us under the sea for an evening or afternoon. Bravo Little Mermaid Cast and Crew! You were amazing!

School Advisory and Student Council Elections: Nominations Open Now! |
Speaking of Student Voice and Leadership at NRHS, all students and families are advised that the election season for Student Council and School Advisory is upon us. Students interested in running for elected offices should pick-up paperwork in the main office or outside of Ms. Michele Smith’s Room (144). To run for office, students must complete the brief but important nomination process by Thursday, April 10th. After nominations, students will campaign, and the entire school will participate in student voting in late April. We will familiarize all students with elected roles as school council members or student council members (class officers), and we will support all students who campaign through review of their promotional materials, speeches, and general campaign/stump speeches!
Students, the direction a school takes is incredibly important (School Advisory) and the activities, events, and class decision making (Student Council) can have major implications for how students (you and your classmates) will remember high school (maybe forever). Get involved! Lead! Win or lose, the experience of running for elected office will help you grow as a student, a leader, and as a person generally. We need your voices, Warriors, consider running for office!
Students are advised of the following timelines and processes, which we will review via announcement, in assemblies, and on Warrior News. If you are considering running for office in any fashion, make sure to:
Review these important dates and steps for running for class elections!

Want to know more about elected roles and student leadership? We will broadcast a tutorial about student office AND you can ask Ms. Smith, Mr. Young, Ms. Landry, or Mr. Bond in the main office or at lunch. You can also ask a class advisor or trusted staff mentor! Good luck Warriors!
