Principal’s Flyer #26: February 23, 2025

Dear Students & Families:

We hope you’ve enjoyed the winter vacation and are looking forward to returning to a school schedule.  This period of time between February and April breaks most often serves as the period of time in which our students make significant academic progress given we’re settled into routines and have a relatively uninterrupted learning timeframe as we work toward spring.  Before looking ahead to a busy week, we’d like to celebrate some accomplishments over break and that are ongoing.

Congratulations to our founding cohort of Montachusett Vocational Partnership (MVP) students, who have helped build a new facility for the MVP program.  Check out photos of the House Carpentry Shop, Electrical Shop, and Main Entrance!  Congratulations also to our Middle School and Varsity Cheer Squads on their first place wins and Mid-Wach League Championship (at the writing of this memo), and kudos to our athletes and coaches, and thanks to the entire NRSD Cheer Community supporting these programs!  Bravo to Senior Collin Smith, who has been selected to participate in the 10th Annual Joseph R. Mewhiney Chapter Central Massachusetts All Star Football Game.  Great job to Collin on this tremendous honor, and if you’d like to catch some June football, save the date of June 19th for the game! And finally, kudos also to Senior Swimmer Jacob Pervier, who has (also at the writing of this memo) just won States Division 1 for 50-Yard Freestyle swim.  Congratulations Jacob!

Thanks to our 8th grade students Ms. Flood, Ms. Guild, and DJ Mr. Doucette and all chaperones for making a Valentine Dance happen! Thanks to all involved for your time…This was a great way to send us into the winter break.  Warriors - thank as usual for great student conduct at the dance.   We’re looking forward this week to a Health Fair & Wellness Fair involving more than a dozen vendors to work with our 9th and 10th grade students this coming Thursday.

NRHS School Report Card

Families are advised that every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas.

Here’s a link to our letter overviewing and highlighting some aspects of our 2024 Report Card; we are excited and committed to pursuing ongoing success as a school.
