Principal’s Flyer #21: January 12, 2025

Dear Students & Families:

We hope you’ve enjoyed the wintry weekend and are anticipating the upcoming holiday weekend, with students off from school next Monday, January 20th.   Term 2 is set to close January 22nd, and students as well as families are reminded that all teachers hold office hours after school, and students can request after-school help schedules directly from teachers or from counselors.  Additionally, NRHS runs late buses Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays so students are able attend these sessions.  Additionally, Mu Alpha Theta provides Math Tutoring on Wednesday afternoons.  We encourage all students to put that extra effort down the home stretch of Term 2 to finish our first Semester in a good place!

Last week families were sent information regarding our routine middle of the year survey for each of your children beginning this Monday, January 13th.  Your support in completing these screenings is vital to our efforts in identifying and addressing the social-emotional and mental health needs of our students. As always, thank you for your time and commitment to this process.

Student Government Day, Massachusetts State House

Registration is now open for this year's Student Government Day, which will be held at the Massachusetts State House on Friday, April 4. Student Government Day is a full-day event that provides juniors and seniors from Massachusetts' public and private high schools with opportunities to learn about state government firsthand. The program enables students to participate in the legislative process through simulated committee hearings and formal House and Senate sessions, and it also allows students to voice and exchange views with their peers on important statewide issues.

In order to be guaranteed a role assignment, we need to register students by February 15th.  If you are a junior or senior student interested in student government day, please reach out to Mr. Young (cyoung@nrsd.org).
