Principal’s Flyer #12: November 3, 2024
Dear Students & Families:
We hope you’re feeling well-rested as a result of an extra hour of sleep courtesy of daylight savings’ end. Thank you to our roughly 25 students who participated in Trunk or Treat so kids can eat drive on October 31st…And you can catch the results of the much ballyhooed Senior Costume Parade results by checking our slide montage for the results on our district website. A huge number of seniors participated this year, making for a vibrant afternoon. Competition categories were extremely competitive, with Jimmy Cavaleri, Aiden Bancroft & Sean Kelly taking the prize for funniest / group costume, Ryan Simpson winning spookiest costume, Collin Smith and Hunter Barlow with Best Team Costume, Amanda Iannacone with most original design, and Richard Hamel taking best overall as The Squid. Thanks to our Seniors, judges, and class advisor for making for a fun afternoon! You can see all the costumes here!
Congratulations this evening also goes out to senior student-athlete, Cody Leblanc, for winning the Donald R. Favreau award for the game’s most inspirational player, given at the Warrior Varsity Football game last Friday vs. Gardner. Big congratulations to Cody for this honor and thank you to the Favreau family. As always, thanks to all for coming out in support of our Warriors teams, including our Field Hockey Team who took on Quabbin in a tough game last Friday in the playoffs, and our Cross Country Team, which won Mid-Wach Athletic D League Championship last week! Check out the full story about the Cross Country Team and our student-athletes in the Gardner News, here!
And last but certainly not least, we’d like to acknowledge Mr. Jared Perrine, Director of Technology for Narragansett Regional School District was recently recognized by MassCUE as the recipient of the 2024 Shelley Chamberlain Community Service Award! Jared earns this award for his years of service and dedication to the MassCUE organization, his leadership in education and the field of technology, and for always putting people first. At NRHS, Mr. Perrine’s leadership helps ensure NRHS students have 1:1 device access, up to date technology for our teachers and staff, and forward learning connectivity and building safety technology. We are incredibly appreciative to Mr. Perrine for his leadership and for our entire technology team. NRHS & The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) |
NEASC Survey Link Now Live in Your Inboxes. Families are asked to take an incredibly important parent/family community survey to help inform our school as we enter our Self-Reflection and Goal Setting phase of our accreditation cycle.
Most parents/guardians will complete the survey in 10 minutes. You will note that our family survey has been professionally translated from English into Arabic, Haitian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Respondents can choose their language preference from a pull-down menu above the title on the welcome screen to complete the survey in these languages. Please reach out to our main office via Cristal Smith (csmith@nrsd.org) or 978-939-5388 with any questions.
Please note that surveys do not save, so thank you in advance for allotting 10 or so minutes to complete the survey in one setting. To avoid students accidentally taking the family survey (students will be given a separate student survey), a separate email will be sent to parents & families at 5:00 PM November 3rd via email. When opened the survey will submit as unique to each respondent.
