Principal’s Flyer #40: June 9, 2024
Dear Students & Families:
Welcome to the last week of school, and the 40th and final memo to students and family for the 2023-2024 school year! We’d like to thank everyone for an outstanding school year. To our families, staff, students, and the wider community: it has been our sincere pleasure working with NRSD students and families this year. To start the week, a reminder to all students and families that school runs Monday through Thursday this week, with Thursday being a half day (dismissal at 11:10 AM) for all students and staff.
Thank you to our many students and families who supported the Grade 8 Washington, DC trip this year! Special thanks to our advisors, Ann Lyons and Mary Remillard, and to all our parent volunteers for helping to drive fundraising, scheduling, and as supporting chaperones on our trip. Thank you to our families and to Firefighter Dan Dean who helped secure the students special tickets for private/special touring opportunities in our Nation’s Capital. Thank you also to Martha Guild and Vickie Flood for organizing a sustainable farming and entrepreneurship field trip this week for 8th grade students. Field trips beyond the classroom are intended to augment our curriculum, and support the relevance of our day-to-day lessons helping students develop as active participants in our workforce and society. Thank you to our staff for making this happen in the week immediately after a very busy graduation and MCAS season.
Finally, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge our 8th graders for outstanding behavior on our various field trips last week. 8th grade students: your conduct representing NRHS and our communities has been outstanding. This is on display at all times when we are touring, and is especially apparent in comparison to fellow student groups we encounter periodically out on field trips. Kudos to you Warriors, for really representing our values of respect and excellence out in public. You make us proud.
Here are just a few photos capturing an outstanding week for our 8th grade students both near and far this last week!
