Principal’s Flyer #39: June 2, 2024

Dear Students & Families:

We hope you are enjoying a weekend of outstanding summer-like weather, and that, for our seniors especially, the weekend has been a truly special one, replete with celebrations and a sense of well deserved accomplishments.  Being out and about around town is always special this time of year, as we see graduation balloons, signs, and celebrations of our Warriors that are well-deserved.  Thanks to all of our attendees on Friday night.  Your energy, enthusiasm, and support of our graduates makes our ceremonies special.  Having participated in and/or coordinated ceremonies in various places over the years, it is always striking how outstanding our families are at graduation.  Thank you all.  And to all students who participated, we are so very proud of you.

We’re quite certain that everyone is well stocked in terms of graduation photos, but just in case, here a couple to help to help capture just a few aspects of the evening:

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Thank You: Senior “Week” & Graduation

When it comes to thanking people who put on a graduation ceremony and almost non-stop events over a two week period, there are always far too many to thank you’s that are owed and the risk of leaving many people out who deserve mention.  That said, five people worked around the clock for several weeks to make the graduation ceremony and surrounding events happen:

  • Thank you to Ms. Ann Lyons - for mentoring advisors, helping book venues, lead trips, decorating, and planning numerous events for senior week and to coordinate a first-rate Prom Safety GAAP day with stakeholders from around the county.

  • Thank you to Ms. Michele Smith for planning, decorations, organizing graduates, leading marching, facilitating important senior week reminders, supporting senior spirit week events, and organizing a small army of student volunteers to prepare the ceremony and also for an outstanding “Golden Gala” prom

  • Thank you to Mr. Salvadore and the NRHS Band for diligently practicing for weeks in the midst of Spring Concert, Memorial Day Observance and related performances.  To the Band: thank you for making the music at our ceremony great.  Your performance of the Senior walkout song was incredible.

  • Finally, thank you to our advisors Mr. Mike Donofrio and Mr. Brandon Wightman for leading this class through 2024.  Being a class advisor is not a role, it’s a de facto lifestyle for the entirety of the Senior year.  Thank you Mr. Donofrio, Thank you Mr. Wightman.

To all the parents/guardians, families, friends, volunteers, boosters, police and fire, and support staff that made things happen: you are sincerely appreciated.
