This is our seniors’ last full week of classes. It will be a busy one, as seniors must complete End of Year academic testing for math and reading in their English and Math classes, wrap up any outstanding bills and fees owed to the school, and have a number of events during the day and evening this week. Senior events this week include the Senior Give Back Day, which begins at 9:00 AM on Tuesday (mandatory) Athletics Awards on Tuesday at the Baldwinville American Legion (6:00 PM) and Senior Class trip on Thursday. Families of Seniors: thanks keeping current with our schedule, which we have reviewed with all seniors. Senior families, you’ll see a section of this memo (below) dedicated to you over the next several weeks. Thanks for taking a close look to stay current.
Sophomores and all grade 10 families are reminded that we have MCAS on Tuesday (5/21) and Wednesday (5/22), which is a High School Diploma requirement. Finally, we are pleased to welcome Representative Jonathan Zlotnik to our MS/HS Memorial Day Observance this Friday. Please see the full details and press release below. We are excited to welcome our community to this formal observance, which also includes a student-led component. And as always, please be advised that NRHS will be closed on Monday (5/27) in observance of Memorial Day.
Narragansett-Montachusett Vocational Program Opportunity (MVP) |
Narragansett Regional School District is working with Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (Monty Tech) and multiple local schools to provide NRHS students with expanded opportunities to enroll in vocational programming during their junior and senior years. Our unique program differs from those across the state, as it is in consideration of a traditional school schedule. NRSD students will attend their academic classes for one week at Narragansett Regional High School, followed by a shop week on the Electrical and Carpentry MVP campus located in Fitchburg. Students who apply and are accepted into our program are making a two-year commitment for their junior and senior years, and at the end of their high school career, students will graduate from Narragansett Regional High School with a high school diploma, 900 vocational training hours, industry-recognized credentials, and co-op experience. Rising juniors and seniors (current grade 10 and 11 students) and families: if you/your student is interested in our (MVP) vocational programming, be advised that NRHS has reviewed this program with students. Families interested to learn more are advised that we will:
Host an informational evening session the evening of May 20th @ 6:00 PM (virtually)
Sophomore and Junior Families, the virtual presentation link and application will be sent to you directly today at the same day/time as the memo, please check your inboxes if interested
