Dear Students & Families:
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! Special thank you goes out today to our Prom Committee, Warrior Moms/prom volunteers, Ms. Smith, Ms. Lyons and our Senior Advisors Mr. Donofrio and Mr. Wightman for a beautiful prom on Saturday night. Students, we never tire of seeing you celebrate this joyous occasion, and we look forward to a graduation season that is steadily picking up steam.
In addition to prom, we are also celebrating outstanding student academic accomplishments ongoing the last two weeks. To name a few: congratulations to our students and thank you to our advisors for a beautiful honors induction last Tuesday, and congratulations to Mr. Scanlan-Emigh’s engineering students for your participation in the Project Lead the Ways’ Engineering Fair on Friday. Kudos also to our Advanced Placement (AP) students for your hard work and preparing for rigorous exams in US Government, United States History, English Literature, and Psychology last week…and we wish you best of luck on your Calculus, Language, and Biology exams this week!
Last but certainly not least, we are formally congratulating Eliza Vello for her selection as Narragansett's Girls State representative for 2024! Congratulations Eliza for this honor!. And in case you missed the many pictures on district/high school social media or online elsewhere, here are just a few photos capturing student hard work and academic accomplishment at NRHS!

Narragansett Vocational Program Opportunity |
Narragansett Regional School District is working with Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (Monty Tech) and several local schools to provide NRHS students with expanded opportunities to enroll in vocational programming during their junior and senior years. Our unique program differs from those across the state, as it is fully built around a traditional school schedule. NRSD students will attend their academic classes for one week at Narragansett Regional High School, followed by a shop week on the Electrical and Carpentry MVP campus located in Fitchburg. Students who apply and are accepted into our program are making a two-year commitment for their junior and senior years, and at the end of their high school career, students will graduate from Narragansett Regional High School with a high school diploma, 900 vocational training hours, industry-recognized credentials, and co-op experience. Rising juniors and seniors (current grade 10 and 11 students) and families: if you/your student is interested in our MVP vocational programming, be advised that NRHS will:
Host an assembly for prospective students on May 17
Host an informational evening session on May 20th @ 6:00 PM (virtually)
Hold help sessions for students interested in applying on May 24th
Adhere to a due date for applications of May 29th
Please be advised that this program is subject to final funding approval. More information will be forthcoming regarding the virtual family information session and student help sessions via this memo, social media postings, and outreach to interested grade 10 and 11 students. See this flyer for details.
Memorial Day Observance at NRHS: May 24, 2024 |
On Friday, May 24, 2024, beginning at 1:15 PM, the Narragansett High School and Middle Schools will hold a Memorial Day Observance in Elinor J. Putnam Gymnasium (464 Baldwinville Rd., Baldwinville MA). This observance has been coordinated by retired Music Director Mr. Stephen Babineau in cooperation with the Narragansett Administration and the Baldwinville American Legion Post since 2011.
The program is essentially the same format as the one at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Winchendon. This year’s guest speaker will be Rep. Jonathan Zlotnik, who has participated in many observances at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery.
The public is invited to this event. The facility is handicapped accessible. Veterans are encouraged to wear insignia showing their branch of service. For more information, please contact Principal Colby Young of Narragansett High School at 978-939-5388 (cyoung@nrsd.org). Please click here for a copy of our press release.
