Principal’s Flyer #27: March 3, 2024
Dear Students & Families:
We hope you’re enjoying the longer and longer days, and a little bit of sunshine and spring-like weather. With spring around the corner and clocks moving ahead this coming weekend, we’d like to take the opportunity to remind everyone that registration for spring athletics is ongoing now. Please don’t delay in registering for spring athletics, you can do so here. Also don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Bond (bbond@nrsd.org) with any questions about spring sports.
We’d like to publicly thank NRSD coaches, families, and student athletes for joining us last week for a talk on sportsmanship and fan conduct. As part of a Massachusetts initiative to promote a positive atmosphere for athletes, families, coaches, officials and all spectators, NRHS brought out a guest speaker to talk through leadership and sportsmanship in youth athletics. Thank you to Murdock student athletes and coaches, Murdock Principal Mr. Dave Fredette, as well as coaches from Nashoba and the MIAA for coming out on a very busy, rainy Wednesday evening.
Big congratulations go out today to our Varsity Cheer Team, which won the Central Massachusetts competition today with the highest score not only in the league, but west of 495! Kudos also to Leah Deane, Ruby Keating, and Ashlyn Duplessis for competing in states last week, and to Tai Sayarath for competition in states for skiing as just an 8th grader…as well as our varsity boys hockey team on a strong season! We’re now wishing luck to our girls varsity hoops (Tuesday) and girls varsity hockey players (tonight), as they continue their playoff push upon the writing of this update!
