Principal’s Flyer #18: December 17, 2023

Dear Students & Families:

We sincerely hope all of our students and families are embracing a joyous weekend, with our December break around the corner and the holiday season in full swing.  Today we’d like to celebrate the Narragansett Theater Guild, which performed Friday through Sunday (today) its production of The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens.  Bravo to our performers, tech crew, and the many volunteers designing sets, costumes, working with performers, supporting the cast, and so many more responsibilities.  Kudos also to Theater Guild advisor/play director Mr. Garrett Schlundt, whose passion for bringing performance to NRSD students is contagious.

Big shout out to Ms. Michele Smith’s Warrior Leadership Class and NRHS Student Council members who are currently running the 2023 Holiday Food Drive.  Reminder to all students and families, the holiday food drive concludes on December 19th.  Any donations are greatly appreciated, as the Food Pantry has been doing all it can to support folks in need this year.   A warm thank you also goes out to NRHS students and National Honors Society, Ms. Chapman, and all volunteers laying wreaths at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Winchendon on Friday.  Thank you to our Warriors for honoring and remembering those who have served during the holidays.   And finally, shout out goes out to Mr. Gagnon’s Robotics students who demonstrated outstanding overall quality of robots at Friday’s Vex Robotics competition.  Tyler Orcutt and Gavin Richard piloted Gansett's top performing robot, with Aiden Bancroft and Nate Longmuir driving our team’s second top-performing robot. All drivers walked away with ideas for improving their robots for major competition this spring.
