Principal’s Flyer #8: October 9, 2023
Dear Students & Families:
We’re wishing everyone a wonderful holiday weekend, filled with fall activities alongside anticipation of upcoming fall events. With Homecoming Week and Warrior Fest around the corner, as well as Winter Athletics Registration open now, it remains an opportune moment to remind all students and families to make sure students are in good standing academically, and handbook signatures have been reviewed and signed by parents/guardians. Additionally, we’d like to remind everyone that all faculty and staff hold office hours after school on a weekly basis, and we run late buses to support transportation after school hours for academically minded students every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday when NRHS is in session.
This holiday weekend we’re celebrating two Scholastic Awards NRHS has been given as a result of the hard work of Warrior students and staff. The first is what has now become a routine selection to US News and World Reports Best Public High Schools in the US. Secondly, NRHS has been cited as an Advanced Placement School Honor Roll, silver award.
The AP® School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
NRHS had 55% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 32%of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 23% of seniors who took five or more AP exams! Click here to see the full press release. Again, great job to NRHS students and staff!
