Principal’s Flyer #38: May 29, 2023
Dear Warrior Students & Families:
Today we are wishing everyone a wonderful Memorial Day holiday, and hope you have been able to take advantage of the holiday weekend as well as the unofficial start of the summer season marked by a weekend of sunshine. Special thank you goes out to Mr. Stephen Babineau for coordinating a wonderful Memorial Day observance at NRHS last Friday. Sincere thanks also to Mr. Jim Brehio and Mr. Joe Falco and the American Legion Baldwinville Post 373 for making this observance special, along with our keynote speaker Mr. Dave Bramhall and Ms. Mary Tierney for her rendition of Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. Furthermore, while we expect this of our students, we are also appreciative for the respect and decorum NRHS and NRMS students showed during the ceremony. Thank you students Xia Hill, Brianna Nuñez, Quinn Wiedle, Carmine Imbriglio, Madyson Hemlin, and Eliza Vello for their leadership in making this ceremony very much a special student-led observance.
We are now in the full swing of Senior Week. Thank you to Ms. Ann Lyons and Ms. Stacey Buckman for coordinating GAPP, Prom, and Senior Class trip on Friday. Thank you also to our Senior Class for doing an outstanding job beautifying our campus during last Tuesday’s Senior Give Back Day. Seniors cleaned the grounds, planted flower beds and potted plants around campus, cleaned parking lots, the NMS/NRHS front horseshoe, gymnasium, as well as library and kiva. When you attend graduation and/or are on campus for an upcoming event, we hope you’ll notice the hard work of our seniors in beautifying the campus.
As we’re now in senior “week”, families of Seniors are reminded to track the calendar, and reach out to our seniors advisors, Ms. Lyons (alyons@nrsd.org) and/or Ms. Buckman (sbuckman@nrsd.org) with any questions. When we return this week, senior students and families are reminded that events for all students, including the banquet commence this Tuesday. Graduation will be on June 2nd @ 6:00 PM, AND, please check out our district and high school social media for Graduating Senior Profiles as well as any important updates to events.
Washington DC Field Trip 8th Grade |
Special thank you goes out to our 8th grade students and families this week. For students that stayed on campus and attended Memorial Day Observance and attended a walking field trip and presentation on entrepreneurship and sustainability given by The Kitchen Garden,we appreciate your attention during a busy week in may. And to all of our families who helped support a return of the 8th grade class to Washington, DC and this year, we are tremendously appreciative of your effort on behalf of our school and students. Seeing students deboard Wilson coaches on Friday evening, it was clear we had some tired yet excited students who toured our nation’s capital extensively. Given the week, visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery is a special experience. We’d like to take a moment to thank our chaperones for giving up time away from their own families to create a memorable experience for our students. Thank you to Ms. Kiley Berube, Ms. Mary Remillard, Nurse Katie Goguen, Mr. Steve Flis, Ms. Cheryl Mousseau, Ms. Tara McAllister, Ms. Amy Maguy, Ms. Catrina Boumil, and of course trip coordinator, Ms. Marlena Knutila.
