Principal’s Flyer #35: May 7, 2023
Dear Warrior Students & Families:
We hope you were able to enjoy some hard-earned spring weather this weekend and are anticipating continued spectacular weather this upcoming week. As we enter prom week, NRHS is proud to bring our Juniors and Seniors an interactive prom and senior week safety and awareness program, which is a collaborative effort between NRSD, Templeton Police, Fire, and the Worcester County District’s. Monday’s day-long activities will feature a number of authentic activities to raise awareness for public safety, and help promote positive decision making. As both a Principal and proud Dad, there’s a recognition of the balancing act between safeguarding our young people and giving the space and freedom they seek as emerging young adults. To any student reading this memo: know that we do these things because we care, and that you are more important to us all that perhaps you may realize. As my parents always told me - someday you’ll understand if/when you become a parent. Thanks to this community and all of our stakeholders for the upcoming festivities and support for our Warriors.
As you may have seen on NRSD social media, NRHS is proud to share that we have been recognized as a distinguished school for our STEM related programming and opportunities for students. Please read the full press release here. Special thanks to our project lead the way teachers, teacher leaders One8 Foundation, industry partners, and students for making NRHS a leader in STEM education.

Narragansett Middle & High School Memorial Day Observance: May 26th |
On Friday, May 26, beginning at 1:15 p.m., Narragansett High School and Middle Schools will hold a Memorial Day Observance in the Elinor J. Putnam Gymnasium. This observance has been coordinated by retired Music Director Mr. Stephen Babineau in cooperation with the Narragansett Administration and the Baldwinville American Legion Post since 2011.
The program is essentially the same as the program held at the Winchendon Veterans’ Cemetery. This year’s guest speaker will be Rev. Francis Roberge, pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Baldwinville. Fr. Roberge has participated in scores of military funeral services at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Cemetery in Winchendon.
The public is invited to this event. The facility is handicapped accessible. Veterans are encouraged to wear insignia showing their branch of service.
