Dear Warrior Students & Families:
We hope you’re able to catch some sunshine on this lovely Sunday, and are looking forward to longer days ahead! Today we’re wishing our NRHS Varsity Cheer Team good luck in state competition today. The team competes today at 2:30 PM at Worcester State College, and also heads to National Competition this week! Please be advised there will be a send off on Wednesday Night, March 15th, in the TES Gym at 6:00 PM!
And at the top of our memo today, we’d like to congratulate Class of 2023 seniors Brooke Craig on her award as a John and Abigail Adams scholar, and Ashley Kilbury as our Worcester County Superintendents’ Association Scholar for 2023. Here’s a picture of Ashley receiving her award with Dr. Casavant at College of the Holy Cross last week. Congratulations to these outstanding Warriors!
Spring Conferences April 12th & 13th: Signups Coming Soon |
Spring Family/Teacher Conferences will be held this year on April 12th and 13th between 11:45 AM and 2:30 PM. Signups will open in March. For your advanced planning purposes, information regarding conferences and how to sign up can be found here: NRHS Spring Conferences. Please be advised that signups for conferences will open March 31st.
MCAS State Testing |
Each year the state requires grade 8, grade, 9 and grade 10 students to participate in MCAS. HS MCAS is a graduation requirement per the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For all of you who are advanced planners, we’d like to share our MCAS schedule with you early, in the event this helps you with planning for the spring. We’ll share more detailed information with you as the dates approach. As always, don’t hesitate to reach out cyoung@nrsd.org with any questions.

Participate in ELA MCAS on both days: 4/4 and 4/5
Participate in Science MCAS on both days: 5/2 and 5/3
Participate in Math MCAS on both days: 5/10 and 5/11
Grade 9 Students
Participate in Biology MCAS on both days: 6/6 and 6/7
Grade 10 Students
Participate in ELA MCAS on both days: 3/28 and 3/29

Monty Tech interviews will be held for underclassmen students who applied during the week of 3/20/23. Students/families will be contacted mid week this week directly with your interview date and time. Upperclassmen applicant interview dates are TBA per Monty Tech.
St. Patrick’s Day Semi-Formal Dance, March 17th! We’re looking forward to seeing 8th, 9th, and 10th graders at the spring dance on St. Patrick’s Day this coming Friday! Students, be on the lookout for information from your advisors/Ms. McLaughlin!
March 14th is Pi Day! Let your inner math guru shine with the math department on Tuesday, March 14th! Wear your best Pi Day T-Shirt! As always, Tabletalk is donating pies for all participants! Mu Alpha Theta has sent students Pi Day information and challenges will be announced this Monday morning on Warrior News.
Due to forecasted inclement weather, Mu Alpha Theta induction has been moved to Tuesday, March 21st.
Project 351 Ambassadors Need Your Help! Kelly Taylor and William Maguy are partnering with Cradles to Crayons in a major civic action project to help ensure all children have clothes to wear across several cities and communities. Kelly and William will be collecting new and gently used clothes in the HS front lobby from March 20th through March 31st. Thanks in advance for any support you may be able to provide.
Support the Washington DC Grade 8 Class Trip! Students will be selling through the month of March, with raffles being selected through the month of April.
The cost to enter the raffle is $10 a calendar
Proceeds go directly to the 8th grade student traveling to Washington, DC.

Get a Strike and Support the Cheer Team! The Warrior Cheer Team invites you to come bowling at Gardner Ten Pins to support the Narragansett Varsity Cheerleaders!

Time 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Cost $20, which includes shoe rental
