Community Readers - Team Up and Read!

Narragansett Community members were invited to read to our 5th grade ELA and Literacy classes. Visitors chose a book to share with students or read aloud from the class read aloud.

We had the privilege of having District Staff & HS students to visit our classrooms. Thank you to: Jess Smith (parent & TES teacher), Cory Rogers (Central Office/PPS), Jennifer King (7th Grade Literacy), Garrett Schlunt (7th Grade Social Studies), Meri Martin (NMS staff & parent), Chloe Hutchinson & Amanda Iannacone (HS students), Eric Supple (HS ELA), and Dr. Chris Casavant (District Superintendent).

CRThank you to our visitors for taking the time out of their day to share their love of reading with our students! (See more pics here)

5th Grade Young Writers

Students in 5th Grade Literacy participated in another round of mini saga writing. Several students had their work chosen to be included in a compilation book to be published May 16th. Students were given the choice to write a mini saga for Fight or Flight (a character must make a choice), Unsolved (a mystery!), or A Wander in the Woods (story setting in the woods). Some chose to do one, others chose to do two or even all three!  (See all pics here!)

head😃 Get involved! Join a Club or Activity!

NMS offers several ways for students to get involved beyond the school day. Students should listen for morning announcements, read The Friday Memo, and watch the lobby whiteboard and monitor for announcements regarding club start dates, directions for joining, and when the club runs. Clubs meet right after school and end in time to catch the late bus!
