❄️🎶 Another Magical WINTER CONCERT!
A perennial favorite event, this year's NMS band students treated concert-goers to an evening of holiday-themed songs and cheer! Thank you to Mr. Greg O'Connor and the NMS student musicians for their awesome performance!
Above, Mr. O'Connor's 5th Grade Beginner Band leads the audience through an entertaining retrospective of their journey (some were brand new musicians) from August through the work they've done to prepare for Thursday's show. Students narrated throughout the show, sharing insight to the many steps in the progression which included some comical memories of their first steps toward musicianship. Below top, Mr. O'Connor joins a packed house in applauding the 5th Graders on their performance; below middle, Mr. O'Connor and the 6th and 7th Grade Advanced Band pause while a portion of their journey is shared by a student in preparation for a piece to be played; below bottom, Mr. O'Connor stands back and joins in as the 6th and 7th Graders enjoy a round of applause from the appreciative crowd.
Thank you to all of our student musicians, their families, and Mr. O'Connor for their hard work and support in making all of the NMS bands happen!
Thank you to Mrs. Jennifer Chagnon, 7th Grade ELA teacher, for organizing and accompanying our student participants in Wreaths Across America, as well as all of the parents and guardians who attended and participated! This experience is impossible to duplicate any other way, or solely through a classroom lesson so we appreciate the ability to have our students be involved!
Thank you on behalf of our Student Council Food Drive!
Our awesome Student Council recently sponsored a food drive to support the local community. Thank you to everyone who donated goods toward this worthy cause! Community means everything and our StuCo members want to make a positive impact for our friends and neighbors!
