😃
NMS has a culture of continuous improvement--improvement in every aspect of teaching & learning and the student experience in order to support students being productive at their highest levels. We are in the business of student achievement and building a positive school culture--these are the only agendas at NMS that count!

📣. Please note the important change to the Intramurals schedule!
Following up on the email we sent this past week: due to the incredible response and participation.numbers, students who returned a permission slip have been placed into one of three groups and should attend Intramurals at NMS according to the lists posted outside of the gymnasium at NMS or room 13! Students must check BEFORE arranging transportation home so they know they have the correct day for their group!
In the event of parent / guardian pick up conflicts in case the assigned day does not work, please contact Ms. Eaton at aeaton@nrsd.org!
7th Grade Team Annual Quabbin Field Trip!
This field trip will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024 (rain date Friday, October 25, 2024) and stops at various places throughout the Quabbin Reservoir, which also includes a stop at the McLaughlin Fish Hatchery in Belchertown. We may need (8) chaperones. If parents are interested in chaperoning, please email Mrs. Clark at sclark@nrsd.org Chaperones do not need to pay for their spot on the trip. *CORI must be completed in the office!**

🗓 Important Information for Any Student Staying After School & Late Bus Details!
Students who remain after school must be with a school-related activity (club or sports), or meeting with a teacher. Students are not permitted to loiter on school grounds after dismissal. The district offers a late bus to students on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday which departs from the rear parking lot at 2:55 p.m. sharp. Any student looking to utilize the late bus must be aware of two important details:
The late bus does NOT follow routes of the morning or afternoon buses that bring students to and from school. Check HERE for the list of stops the late bus follows; and
ALL students riding the late bus must obtain a pass from the teacher with whom they stayed after school. Students will not be permitted on the late bus without a valid pass from the teacher the student was with after school.
Above: Students in Mr. Dufour's 5th Grade Design & Modeling (Project Lead the Way class) display their Ankle Foot Orthotics Projects.
Above: students read the projected music as they practice playing rhythms on bucket drums in Ms. Sommer's 6th Grade Music Class; below: Mr. O'Connor leads the 6th Grade Band; (far below) Students in Mr. O'Connor's 6th Grade Music class responds to "Friday Music Quick Write" prompts as musical selections of different genres or commonalities suggested by students are played. This week was songs with a color in the title so "Yellow Submarine", and "Brown Eyed Girl" could be heard as students penned their thoughts.
😃 Get involved! Join a Club or Activity!
NMS offers several ways for students to get involved beyond the school day. Students should listen for morning announcements, read The Friday Memo, and watch the lobby whiteboard and monitor for announcements regarding club start dates, directions for joining, and when the club runs. Clubs meet right after school until the late bus
