What's New This Week!

🏆 Congratulations to our latest Students of the Month!  On Wednesday, May 17th the NMS students and staff gathered in the auditorium to celebrate these 9 students for their efforts this month!  Chosen by staff, Students of the Month exemplify the core values of NMS, which include respect, perseverance, and integrity.  Students of the Month are also those who strive to meet our Shared Expectations of Be Nice, Work Hard, No Excuses, and Good Choices.  Shown above are this month's selectees (left to right) Dominic DiMucci, Brennah Buckingham-Bennett (inset), Bailey Szoc, Sadie Morrilly, Alivia Gaj, Khloe Hamel, Liam Dupuis, Makayla Questello, and Meghan Boisvert!

🌿 Ecology School families: don't miss the important Ecology School meeting!  Please join us at 6:00 p.m.Wednesday, May 24th at NMS!   Another very important day is Sunday, June 4th, the night before we leave.  Students will need to drop off their luggage at NMS between 4 and 5:30.  Students will be able to bring a backpack with them the morning of the trip, but their bedding and suitcases will need to be dropped off on Sunday.  The school nurse will be there to collect any medication, as well.  If you have ANY questions about  Ecology School please contact Mrs. Chagnon at jchagnon@nrsd.org.

😎 Please be sure you are preparing your students for any outdoor activities they may participate in during the day at NMS by applying sunscreen in the morning!  Physical Education teachers often hold lessons outside during the nicer weather, and there are a variety of other opportunities that teachers in other classes take advantage of as well.  Applying sunscreen before school and / or supplying students with it to apply themselves at school is strongly recommended for any time of the year, but especially during these warm, sunny months.  Good health habits include skin care, and sunscreen is an important step in protecting skin every day.

🗓 Don't forget midterm progress reports will be available on the School Brains portal after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23!

📰 Do you have newspapers you need to recycle?  WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THEM! Mrs. Dupuis' Art students use newspapers for their sculpture projects, so any newspaper you are looking to discard, please consider donating it to NMS!  We can take any clean newspapers you have in our main office.  Thank you for your support!

In Case You Missed It, Here's The Recap!

📖 Order your NMS yearbook!  Go online now to ybpay.lifetouch.com to order yours!  The 2023 NMS yearbook code is 14306923.

🚫 Please remember that students are not permitted to use their cell phone at school.  If you need to contact your student in an emergency, please contact the main office and we will relay the message.  Students who are using their devices will receive a tech violation write up, and depending on how many they have accrued, may be subject to disciplinary action.

💻 MCAS math testing is underway and we will finally conclude all sessions on May 16!  Please be especially mindful of unnecessary absences  during these last weeks, as the windows assigned by the state are limited in what make up time we have.  All of our MCAS dates can be found in our School Events listings on our webpage.
