What's New This Week! |
🖼 NMS 6th Graders traveled to the Worcester Art Museum on Friday, March 17! Grants obtained from the Templeton and Phillipston Cultural Councils enabled Mrs.Dupuis, NMS Art Teacher and the 6th grade team to collaborate and create this field trip opportunity for all sixth grade students. Everyone had an exciting day creating artwork in the museum studios and touring artworks spanning 3000 years to the present! Many thanks to the the Local Cultural Councils and the Mass Cultural Council for making this trip possible. Thank you to all of our volunteer chaperones who helped make this field trip a success! Thanks, too, to the 6th Grade Team and Mrs. Dupuis for their work in organizing this exciting opportunity! See a group picture below and click here to see pictures from the day!
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Templeton & Phillipston Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
While the 6th Grade was there, they got to see NMS Student Work Featured at the Worcester Art Museum! The Worcester Art Museum is celebrating Youth Art Month with a show of artwork from students throughout Massachusetts. This year, the work of four Narragansett Middle School students was chosen to represent our school. Be sure to congratulate these talented students: 7th grader Lydia Draleau, 6th graders Chloe Gagne & Caliana Cosentino, and 5th grader Ava Enright. This Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Worcester Art Museum is free and open to the public through April 2nd.
In Case You Missed It...Here's the Recap! |

👉 Teacher Conferences will be held April 12 and 13, which will be half days (for students) to accommodate afternoon conference sessions. You are encouraged to make an appointment during the conference window, 11:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (the last appointment is 2:15 p.m.--please note there are no evening Spring conferences). Conference sign ups will be available starting on March 31, and will close at midnight on Sunday, April 10. Instructions and a link to make an appointment for a teacher conference can be found here. Because report cards will NOT be out before conferences because of the snow day pushback (Term 3 closing a week later), please be sure you are keeping on top of student progress in the School Brains platform!
💻 MCAS testing is almost here! MCAS will begin on April 3 and go through mid-May. All grades, 5-7 will take two sessions each of ELA and math, and 5th grade only will also take two sessions of science. Please be especially mindful of unnecessary absences during this six-week time, as the windows assigned by the state are limited in what make up time we have. All test dates have been finalized and can be found on the calendar below. Any changes will be updated.
🗓 Term 3 dates have been amended and it will now close on April 6, to allow instruction missed for the snow days that fell during the quarter to be made up. Report cards will now be available in the School Brains portal after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.
